Modern Landscaping

Defined by clean lines, stark shapes, and an architectural approach, modern landscaping is a mode of design more concerned with crafting an aesthetically pleasing space than with planting flowers, shrubs and trees.

This style has been trending for a while now. It’s aesthetic is all about clean lines, minimal use of color, a careful mix of textures and often used to compliment a building or home. It channels a sense of calm like the feeling of cleaning your home. It’s squared lines and varied use of materials is pleasing to the eye. A clean yard is a clear mind.

No circular patios or tacky colors. It’s a bit strict in terms of what you can implement but this opens up a new way of thinking. Mixing a wood privacy fence with a concrete wall. Or a few accent plants with one solid color in a rock bed. Square planters are greatly appreciated here instead of a flower bed. Metal accents are often used to create a unique juxtaposition. Mixing rock and pavers as well creates a symmetrical look pleasing to the eye.

Water features are also great in modern landscape design as long as it enhances the overall look.
